HID Global’s pivCLASS readers deliver exceptional value in enhancing security for facilities and ensuring that organizations meet FIPS 201 compliance standards. The product line encompasses a wide range of contactless, contact plus contactless, and biometric readers. These readers are engineered to integrate with the pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM) to fulfill the assurance level requirements outlined in NIST Special Publication 800-116 and the federal government’s FICAM E-PACS guidelines. Many pivCLASS readers offer dual deployment options, functioning in either Wiegand or PAM mode. Wiegand mode is designed for use without a PAM and provides a flexible phased deployment option to facilitate the transition to FIPS 201 compliance. Transitioning from Wiegand mode to PAM mode can be accomplished on-site by updating the reader firmware.
