HID Global’s pivCLASS readers deliver exceptional value in facility security while ensuring compliance with FIPS 201 standards. This product line includes a wide variety of contactless, contact plus contactless, and biometric readers. These readers are specifically engineered to operate seamlessly with the pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM), aligning with the assurance level criteria established in NIST Special Publication 800-116 and the federal FICAM E-PACS guidelines. Most pivCLASS readers can be implemented in either Wiegand or PAM mode. The Wiegand mode is utilized without a PAM, offering a phased deployment option to facilitate the transition to FIPS 201 compliance. Switching from Wiegand mode to PAM mode can be executed on-site by updating the reader firmware.
