Honeywell’s OmniClass series offers a range of 13.56 MHz contactless secure smart card readers, renowned for their reliability, consistent read range, and ease of installation. These readers come in various sizes and incorporate advanced smart card technology, supporting multiple applications per physical card and optional mobile credential capabilities. The OmniClass range can be seamlessly retrofitted to replace any Wiegand output reader, including those using standard HID or other proximity reader technologies. Smart card technology is ideal for various applications, such as access control, logical PC access, storage of biometric templates, parking, secure IDs with digital photos, ePurse transactions, and more. OmniClass now integrates Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) capability, aligning with HID’s Mobile Access platform to allow compatible smartphones to be used as a credential. These readers can be configured as either mobile-ready or mobile-enabled, offering flexibility in mobile credential use.
With multi-technology functionality, OmniClass enables a smooth transition to smart card systems from 125 kHz prox card systems. The range supports HID Prox, EM4102, and AWID technologies, accommodating multiple card technologies within a single facility or across different locations. Regardless of using proximity, mobile, smart, or multi-technology credentials, consistent user identification data formats are maintained, ensuring data transparency.
