The OmniClass series by Honeywell offers a robust line of 13.56 MHz contactless secure smart card readers known for exceptional reliability and consistent read range, alongside easy installation. These readers come in a variety of sizes and integrate smart card technology, enabling multiple applications per card with optional mobile credential functionality.
Designed for retrofitting, OmniClass readers can replace any Wiegand output reader, including standard HID® or proximity readers. The smart card technology is perfect for access control systems, logical (PC) access, secure biometric template storage, parking management, secure IDs with tamper-proof digital photos, ePurse, and a host of other applications needing secure and dependable read/write card operations.
By utilizing HID’s Mobile Access™ platform, OmniClass readers now feature optional Bluetooth® functionality, allowing users to utilize compatible smartphones as credentials. These readers are available in either mobile-ready (prepared for mobile credentials but without loaded mobile keys) or mobile-enabled (equipped with loaded mobile keys for mobile credential usage) configurations.
Multi-Technology Functionality
The range facilitates a seamless transition from 125 kHz prox card systems to smart card systems, offering options that support HID Prox, EM4102, and AWID proximity technologies. These multi-technology readers simultaneously handle all technologies, enabling smooth adoption of smart cards while allowing for the integration of multiple card technologies within single or multi-site facilities. Regardless of the credential type being used—proximity, mobile, smart, or multi-technology—consistent user identification data formats are delivered to the panel, ensuring seamless data transparency.
