Description
The AP-S20RT is equipped with advanced noise filtration technology to mitigate Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) commonly induced into AC lines by nearby radio transmitters or wireless devices. It features EMI filters designed to minimize noise and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) from sources such as electric motors and external switching power supplies. These filters enhance performance by reducing static disruptions and external signal interference in video and audio equipment. Unstable AC Mains voltage is a leading cause of equipment failures, with potential energy surges reaching up to 6kV or current spikes peaking at 3000A. These rapid voltage fluctuations are brief but intense. However, the AP-S20RT’s high-speed circuitry is capable of suppressing unwanted energy with a nanosecond response time and maintaining suppression for up to 2 milliseconds, thus offering reliable protection. An illuminated AC fault LED alerts to any damage in the suppression circuitry. The unit also integrates Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS) to disconnect AC power from devices connected to switched outlets during unsafe voltage conditions. A convenient front panel LED indicates when a shutdown occurs. Additionally, the AP-S20RT boasts a Remote Activation feature that allows for up to 20A of clean power to be controlled remotely via a simple latched dry contact closure. This activation switch also provides 12VDC at 100mA to power a remote status LED. By maintaining the Remote Activation contact closed, an Emergency Power Down (EPD) function can be implemented for system shutdown in case of emergencies. Power is removed from switched outlets when contacts are opened, safeguarding connected equipment. A rear-mounted bypass switch is available to deactivate Remote Activation as needed.
