The Ubiquiti Networks airFiber AF-5XHD is a 5 GHz Carrier Backhaul Radio specifically engineered for extended range Point-to-Point (PtP) backhaul applications. Incorporating cutting-edge LTU technology, it achieves impressive high TDD throughput and employs Hybrid Division Duplexing (HDD) to deliver exceptionally low latency. This model supports both custom and upgraded backhaul link implementations for existing PtP setups. Operating within the 5 GHz spectrum, the airFiber AF-5XHD boasts a remarkable range capability of up to 62 miles. It comes equipped with essential accessories, including a GPS antenna mount, an external GPS antenna, a metal strap, zip ties, and a 24V/1A PoE adapter with a mounting bracket, alongside a power cord.
This advanced radio is powered by custom LTU silicon and revolutionary radio architecture, which collectively achieve performance milestones far beyond what generic Wi-Fi chips can offer. The radio manages to deliver low latency, extensive range capabilities, DFS flexibility, higher constellations, elevated power output, and superior receive sensitivity. With a spectral efficiency of 21.2 bps/Hz, the airFiber AF-5XHD supports line-rate data packet processing, reaching real data throughput of up to 1.34 Gb/s. It also incorporates innovative xtreme Range Technology (xRT) to enhance its operational capabilities.
