Description
Ethernet cabling traditionally has a maximum length limit of 100 meters (328 feet) between network switches and IP cameras. To extend connectivity beyond this barrier, network installers typically deploy a switch as a network repeater or opt for optical fiber solutions. However, a more streamlined approach involves integrating a PoE Extender, such as the AXIS T8129, directly into the Cat-5e or Cat-6 cabling. This method enables extended network transmission, achieving total distances between 200 and 400 meters (656-1312 feet), depending on the midspan and camera specifications. This solution allows seamless integration and flexibility in network infrastructure for surveillance deployments.
