Designed as a point-to-point solution, LONGSPAN optimizes itself for superior performance without requiring any setup or configuration. It even supports single-pair UTP cables, facilitating a swift transition from legacy analog setups to modern IP systems.
LONGSPAN ensures unrestricted 100Base-TX connectivity over an impressive 820-meter span, and POE-enabled models provide robust 802.3at POE Plus power at up to 600 meters. In the most demanding environments, LONGSPAN delivers exceptional reliability.
Available in both POE and data-only formats, LONGSPAN offers high-power Max Single and Quad configurations for both the base and camera ends. Comprehensive datasheets are available, including LONGSPAN Base 8, LONGSPAN Max, and LONGSPAN Max Quad.
**Seamless Range and Bandwidth**
IP cameras require peak data bandwidth during critical high-activity or low-light operations. LONGSPAN meets these demands by supporting up to 200Mbps, ensuring stable 100Base-TX Ethernet performance up to 820 meters with Cat 6 cables (or 690 meters with Cat 5e).
For even longer distances, LONGSPAN can auto-negotiate to a 10Base-T connection, stretching the range to beyond 1000 meters—over ten times the standard Ethernet limit.
**Enhanced Power Over Greater Distances**
LONGSPAN’s POE models can draw power from standard IEEE 802.3af POE, 802.3at POE Plus, and 802.3bt High Power POE switches and injectors. Alternatively, for maximum range and power, Veracity’s versatile power supplies can be used. LONGSPAN can deliver the full 25 watts required for POE Plus devices up to 600 meters with Cat 6 cables when powered by a Veracity power supply, with options for 5 to 20 watts from other POE sources depending on distance and cable type. LONGSPAN Max High Power devices now offer up to 90W.
**IP Migration Without UTP Replacement**
In installations with existing analog cameras using UTP baluns for video transmission over hundreds of meters, LONGSPAN offers a straightforward upgrade to IP systems. It detects and adjusts to single-pair cables automatically, providing consistent 10 or 100Base-TX connections up to 820 meters, guaranteeing reliable IP video quality.
**High Density and Dependable Performance**
LONGSPAN’s innovative, extendable mounting system allows up to 24 channels in just 1U of rack space, with options for rear-mounted power supplies. Smart diagnostic LEDs, including the SAFEVIEW® display on POE models, give immediate insights into power availability based on cable conditions, as well as remote link status and other diagnostic data, ensuring rapid and confident installations.
