To effortlessly double your Ethernet network cable range to 200 meters (656 ft), simply integrate the OUTREACH Lite inline. This plug-and-play device requires no setup or network configuration.
Ethernet, the predominant technology for Local Area Network (LAN) deployment, often adheres to the 100BASE-T standards, which inherently limit connections to a maximum of 100 meters (328 feet). However, extended-range requirements are commonplace in security and surveillance installations.
OUTREACH Lite removes this obstacle, effortlessly expanding your network reach to 200 meters (656 ft) when paired with a Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector if necessary.
Simplified Installation
Leveraging the universal 802.3af PoE standard, OUTREACH Lite acquires power directly from the network, negating the need for additional local power supplies. This ensures flexibility in placement and convenient deployment.
For network switches equipped with PoE, OUTREACH Lite can be positioned up to 100 meters from the switch to extend connectivity by another 100 meters over standard Cat 5e or equivalent cables. In scenarios where PoE is unavailable, economical PoE injectors, such as those offered by Veracity, provide a straightforward upgrade path. The OUTREACH Lite autonegotiates network speed, duplex, and crossover seamlessly, requiring neither an IP nor a MAC address.
Extended Reach Capabilities
For networks necessitating PoE extension beyond 200 meters (656 ft), Veracity’s OUTREACH Max can be deployed, facilitating Ethernet and PoE extension in conjunction with OUTREACH Lite.
A practical application is connecting devices over 400 meters (1312 feet) via a PoE switch, using two OUTREACH Max units spaced 100 meters apart, followed by an OUTREACH Lite.
Configurations allow for network connections up to 2.2 kilometers (1.4 miles), supported by appropriate PoE sources. Refer to the OUTREACH Max datasheet or Veracity’s “Long Range Ethernet Extension” white paper for additional guidance.
Unconstrained Bandwidth
Both OUTREACH Max and OUTREACH Lite ensure the reestablishment of network connections every 100 meters, sustaining the full 200Mbps bandwidth typical of 100BASE-T Ethernet. This guarantees optimal performance and transparency, eliminating the risk of bandwidth degradation or variability across extended distances.
