For fundamental ganging rack solutions, the Atlas 540-25 offers a contemporary design. This rack is 22-5/16″ wide, 25-1/2″ deep, and accommodates 40 vertical panel units. The 500 Series Cabinets are crafted from welded 16-gauge cold-rolled steel (CRS) and are ready for immediate deployment. Rear doors feature quick-release spring hinges for 180° rotation, supporting both right and left-hand opening. Refer to the accompanying chart for optional front door model numbers. If a front door is ordered, it will have a different key for enhanced security. Both the cabinet frame and rear door are vented, facilitating optimal air circulation and cooling.
The 500 Series offers several installer-friendly features, including a 6 RU standard panel width opening on the cabinet top and multiple conduit arrays. The top opening can serve various purposes: left open for unrestricted cable access and ventilation, partially covered with an ISOPANEL™ for non-conductive cable access, or closed with two standard 5-1/4″ (3 RU) panels. It is also ideal for installing EFP Series fans. The numerous conduit arrays ensure maximum access and are strategically positioned on the cabinet’s top and bottom panels and across the top and bottom back flanges. Surface arrays include four knockouts: two standard 1″ (25 mm) knockouts and two concentric knockouts of 1⁄2″ (13 mm) / 3⁄4″ (19 mm). Flange arrays consist of five knockouts: three standard 1″ (25 mm) and two concentric 1⁄2″ (13 mm) / 3⁄4″ (19 mm).
Each cabinet includes a pair of adjustable mounting rails made from 12-gauge CRS, tapped 10-32 (the 544-30 model includes two pairs of mounting rails). The cabinets feature welded top and bottom panels with panel-opening vents, as well as a removable rear door. They are designed with front-to-rear mounting rail supports featuring slotted cutouts for easy rail depth adjustment and open raceways for vertical cable management. The number of supports per side is model-dependent: 40 RU and 44 RU models have four supports per side, while the 35 RU model has three. The cabinet surface undergoes a phosphate pre-treatment to ensure effective paint adhesion, and the standard finish is a textured black epoxy #962.
