Description
The CR222 ceiling-mounted equipment rack is designed for electronic equipment to be discreetly housed within the ceiling plenum, offering a space-saving and visually unobtrusive solution. This rack seamlessly integrates with standard drop-ceiling tile designs. It ensures secure mounting in a UL plenum-rated cabinet with an easily accessible door. The door features an open frame design, allowing a ceiling tile to be placed into the frame for enhanced concealment. Retainer tabs securely hold the ceiling tile cut-out in position, locking it to the frame. To open the door, two retention thumb screws need to be removed, and safety cables are attached to prevent injuries. With a 2RU (rack units) capacity and a 19″ standard-width, the CR222 is designed to fit a 2′ x 2′ standard ceiling tile grid. The shelf system includes universal mounting holes to accommodate various electronic devices, and an optional rack rail kit can be purchased for rack-mountable equipment. The optional CR222RR rack rail provides additional 2RU.
The AmbiTILT mechanism, a notable feature, offers three methods for easy equipment loading and servicing. The first method involves quick-release cane bolts on the front, allowing the entire shelf to tilt downwards while being secured by safety cables and rear cane bolts. This ambidextrous design also allows the rear cane bolts to be released, tilting the shelf for rear access. The third option permits complete removal of the shelf system by releasing all cane bolts and quick-release locking pins.
The CR222 also includes an integrated UL-listed power pack that provides power for mounted electronic devices and data projectors. It features five electrical outlets with standard 15 Amp Edison-style plugs—four inside the cabinet and one exposed for easy projector power access.
