Description
Prepare Your Installations for the Future with LTE Technology
In light of the fast-paced advancements in cellular technologies, the discontinuation of 2G and 3G networks is imminent, with some networks already phased out. Embrace the change and upgrade to LTE now to provide clients with enduring investment protection and minimize the need for future service call-outs.
The LE4010CF unit establishes a connection between alarm control panels and cellular networks, transmitting alarm signals directly to monitoring station receivers such as the Sur-Gard System I-IP/II/III/IV/5. Utilizing the cellular network, the LE4010CF ensures economical, high-speed, and dependable alarm communication, compatible with control panels using Contact ID or SIA (300 baud) formats.
The LE4010CF complies with the latest standards for communication methods as per UL864 and NFPA72’s 2010, 2013, and 2016 editions. It is suitable for fire monitoring applications, either as a sole communication technology—where path failure must be reported to the supervising station within 5 minutes (NFPA72 2010) or 1 hour (NFPA72 2013/2016)—or as part of a multi-communication system, like with a DACT. As a backup, each path’s integrity must be monitored, and any path failure reported to the supervising station and on-site within 24 hours.
Functionality Overview
The LE4010CF operates as either a Sole or Backup Communicator. When serving as a Sole Communicator, it replaces the panel’s phone line, transmitting alarms over the cellular network as soon as an alert is detected. As a backup, it monitors the PSTN phone line connection and redirects all alarm communication to the cellular network upon detecting a phone line failure.
For control panels not supporting Contact ID or SIA (300 baud), the LE4010CF includes inputs preset for transmitting fire alarms, fire supervisory alerts, or system troubles. Alarm signals are sent directly to the monitoring station receiver’s IP linecard, bypassing any clearinghouse.
Activation and Initialization
The LE4010CF activation and initialization are straightforward via the C24 Communications website interface, requiring no specialized tools.
Mobile Site for Efficient Installation and Maintenance
C24 Communications’ mobile site (m.connect24.com) facilitates easy installation and offers intuitive troubleshooting features, thereby reducing the time and expense associated with maintenance.
UL Certification
The LE4010CF holds a UL certification under File S4019, Listing Guide UOXX, applicable as a sole or backup communicator in commercial fire monitoring setups. As a sole communicator under NFPA72 2010, it sends a heartbeat every 97 seconds to ensure three heartbeats reach the supervising station within a 300-second window. Under NFPA72 2013/2016 guidelines, it sends a heartbeat every 5 minutes to maintain a 1-hour connectivity check with the supervising station. When used as a backup, it monitors alternative communication methods (like DACT) and sends daily test transmissions to the supervising station.
