Description

The FireLite® Alarms’ SWIFT® (Smart Wireless Integrated Fire Technology) Wireless System offers a versatile solution for challenging environments where traditional wired fire alarm systems may fall short. In scenarios where wiring is difficult or impossible, such as areas with visual sensitivity or restricted access, SWIFT wireless fire sensors deliver an effective and reliable alternative.

SWIFT wireless fire alarm devices utilize a proprietary wireless mesh protocol to seamlessly integrate with FireLite fire alarm systems through a SWIFT wireless gateway. The gateway interfaces with the SLC loop of fire panels like the ES-200X, ES-50X, MS-9200UDLS, or MS9600(UD)LS using LiteSpeed™ protocol. These panels support new type IDs for wireless devices (specifically for ES-200X and ES-50X), allowing the fire alarm control panel (FACP) to display critical information such as alarms, trouble indications, and unique conditions specific to wireless devices, thereby eliminating the necessity for an additional annunciator for wireless event messages.

Within a SWIFT network, wireless fire alarm devices establish “parent-child” communication pathways with other devices, enabling messages to “hop” from remote sensors to parent devices in succession until reaching the gateway. The SWIFT protocol also identifies and supervises alternate paths, ensuring compliant Class A wireless communication. If a device lacks a strong communication path, additional devices like wireless modules can be installed as repeaters to maintain signal integrity.

A SWIFT gateway system accommodates up to 50 fire detection devices: one SWIFT gateway and up to 49 wireless detectors, modules, pull stations, and A/V bases with ES-200X or ES-50X panels. The MS-9200UDLS and MS-9600(UD)LS panels support a gateway with up to 48 such devices, alongside one display driver. The number of gateways in a system is dictated by the available SLC addresses on the FACP, with a maximum of four gateways sharing a common wireless range. Each system using the MS-9200UDLS or MS9600(UD)LS control panels requires one W-DIS-D Wireless Display Driver and an ANN-80-W Annunciator to display wireless-specific events that the FACP cannot.

The SWIFT system is designed for hassle-free installation using simple hand tools and magnets. The SWIFT Tools PC utility enhances the process further by aiding in site evaluations (Site Survey), system installations (Mesh Configuration), and detailed diagnostics. This utility operates on a Windows® laptop via a USB radio antenna (W-USB) to communicate with devices within range. Once the mesh is established, SWIFT Tools can monitor and provide detailed information on all devices within the system, as long as the laptop remains in proximity to the SWIFT Gateway.

Ultimately, the SWIFT system provides a comprehensive fire alarm solution by integrating both wired and wireless detection, delivering all event information at the fire alarm control panel or network displays, and employing a display driver/annunciator as needed.
