Description
To adhere to local building codes and application specifications, System Sensor provides a versatile range of detector bases, including standard 4″ and 6″ bases, alongside specialty options such as relay, isolator, sounder, and low frequency sounder bases tailored for Select Series detectors. The standard bases feature a plug-in design ideal for intelligent fire alarm systems, equipped with screw terminals for power connections and remote annunciation. These bases facilitate communication over the power lines, with the 4″ base offering a compact configuration, and the 6″ base accommodating diverse junction boxes.
Select Series specialty bases are engineered for application-specific needs, incorporating a separate mounting plate that fits various junction box sizes, eliminating the need for unsightly surface-mounted boxes. This design allows for pre-wiring, thereby streamlining and expediting the installation process.
Relay bases (B224RB-WH/B224RB-IV) feature a form C contact relay for auxiliary control functions, such as door closures and elevator recall, with delay settings that can be adjusted via a shunt with pin headers on the base PC board.
Isolator bases (B224BI-WH/B224BI-IV) are crucial for maintaining the integrity of the Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) loop during faults caused by short circuits, as they isolate the affected loop segment and automatically restore the circuit once the fault is resolved.
The Select Series sounder and low frequency sounder bases are optimized for both new and existing residential installations, offering robust installation, configuration, and operational flexibility to meet or exceed UL 268 and UL 464 standards. Notably, the low frequency sounder bases comply with NFPA 72 requirements for sleeping spaces, emitting a fundamental frequency of 520 Hz ± 10%, which is proven to be effective in alerting sleeping occupants, including those with hearing loss.
The B200SR sounder and LF sounder bases (B200SR-WH/B200SR-IV/B200SR-LF-WH/B200SR-LF-IV) are backward compatible with B501BH-Series installations, providing tone selection (ANSI Temporal 3 or Continuous) via a jumper. B200S sounder bases (B200S-WH/B200S-IV/B200S-LF-WH/B200S-LF-IV) share the detector’s address on the loop but with a unique device type, allowing the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) to trigger individual or group sounders. The FACP can customize the command set for varied tone outputs with selectable volume, tone, and group settings, with some FACPs offering custom tone patterns.
The B200S series acknowledges System Sensor synchronization protocol, allowing integration into a general evacuation system when paired with a suitable power supply or FACP output designed to generate synchronization pulses.
