To comply with local code and application needs, System Sensor provides a range of detector bases, including standard 4″ and 6″ versions, as well as specialized bases, such as relay, isolator, sounder, and low frequency sounder options, designed specifically for the Select Series detectors. The standard 4″ and 6″ detector bases are designed for use in intelligent systems, featuring plug-in connections and screw terminals for power and remote annunciator integrations. These bases facilitate communication over the power lines. The compact 4″ base and the 6″ base, which offers broader compatibility with different junction boxes, address various installation requirements.
The Select Series specialty bases are tailored to meet specific application needs. They include a separate mounting plate for installation on various junction box sizes, eliminating the need for unattractive surface-mount boxes, and allowing for pre-wiring that simplifies installation.
Relay bases, such as models B224RB-WH and B224RB-IV, provide a form C contact relay for auxiliary function control, including door closure and elevator recall, with adjustable delay settings. Isolator bases, such as B224BI-WH and B224BI-IV, ensure continued operation of the Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) loop during fault conditions by isolating the loop section with the fault.
Designed for both new and retrofit applications, the Select Series sounder and low frequency sounder bases achieve maximum flexibility in installation and meet UL 268 and UL 464 standards. The low frequency sounder bases comply with NFPA 72 requirements, producing a 520 Hz tone optimal for waking individuals, including those with hearing impairments.
The B200SR sounder and LF sounder bases (B200SR-WH, B200SR-IV, B200SR-LF-WH, B200SR-LF-IV) maintain compatibility with existing installations of the B501BH-Series bases. They enable selection between two tones (ANSI Temporal 3 or Continuous) using a jumper. The B200S sounder and LF sounder bases (B200S-WH, B200S-IV, B200S-LF-WH, B200S-LF-IV) share the detector’s address but function as a unique device type within the circuit. The Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) can command individual or grouped sounders for activation, offering flexible event-driven tone outputs including volume (75 or 85 dBA) and tone options (ANSI Temporal 3, ANSI Temporal 4, or March Time). These sounder bases support the System Sensor synchronization protocol, allowing integration with other System Sensor AV appliances for a coordinated evacuation signal when connected to an appropriate FACP output.
