Description
To align with local code and application standards, a wide variety of detector base solutions is available, including standard 4″ and 6″ bases, as well as specialty base designs such as relay, isolator, sounder, and low-frequency sounder options compatible with Select Series detectors. The standard bases are tailored for intelligent systems and include screw terminals for power connections and remote annunciator links. Communication is facilitated over the power lines. The compact 4″ base and the versatile 6″ base are compatible with numerous junction box sizes. Specialty bases are crafted to meet specific application needs, featuring a unique mounting plate that attaches to various junction boxes to eliminate the need for surface-mount installations, simplifying and accelerating the pre-wiring process.
Relay bases (B224RB-WH/B224RB-IV) incorporate a Form C contact relay catering to auxiliary functions like door control and elevator recall, with two operational modes for different delay times. Isolator bases (B224BI-WH/B224BI-IV) ensure the Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) loop maintains functionality during short-circuit conditions by isolating the affected section and restoring communication post-fault correction.
Select Series sounder and low-frequency sounder bases are engineered for both new and retrofit dwelling unit scenarios, offering flexibility in alignment with UL 268 and UL 464 requirements. Low-frequency sounders are designed per NFPA 72 directives for sleep spaces, producing a 520 Hz tone suitable even for occupants with hearing challenges. The B200SR sounder and LF sounder bases (B200SR-WH/B200SR-IV/B200SR-LF-WH/B200SR-LF-IV) are in sync with existing B501BH-Series setups, featuring tone selection via a jumper.
The B200S sounder and LF sounder bases (B200S-WH/B200S-IV/B200S-LF-WH/B200S-LF-IV) share an address with the detector but function with a unique device type in the loop, which the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) can specifically command for activation of individual or grouped sounders. This caters to diverse event-driven tone outputs with adjustable volume and tone settings, and allows for customized tone patterns with some FACPs. Additionally, the B200S series sounder bases adhere to the System Sensor synchronization protocol, integrating seamlessly into general evacuation signaling alongside other compatible audio-visual appliances when linked to a synchronization-capable power supply or FACP output.
