**Overview:**
The NAC Power Extender is a cost-efficient 8A remote power supply and battery charger compatible with any 12 VDC or 24 VDC fire alarm control panel (FACP). It’s engineered primarily for expanding NAC support to meet ADA requirements, while also providing auxiliary power for additional system accessories.
**Functions:**
**Battery Backup:**
Equipped with an integrated charger suitable for sealed lead-acid or gel-type batteries, its enclosure can house two 12 VDC, 12 Ah batteries. In the event of AC failure, the system automatically switches to battery backup with zero voltage drop.
**Inputs:**
Accepts 115 VAC, 60 Hz, 1.45 A power input, featuring two normally-closed (NC) dry contact trigger inputs, with compatibility for two Class A or Class B FACP inputs.
**NAC Loop Supervision:**
Provides individual loop supervision for Class A and Class B FACP NACs in non-alarm scenarios. Any loop trouble alerts the FACP through a steered input. The unit includes terminals for common trouble outputs and a common trouble input for normally-closed (NC) devices to report issues, along with Loop Output trouble memory for identifying intermittent problems.
**Outputs:**
Delivers electronically regulated and filtered 12 V or 24 V power to Class A or Class B NAC loop circuits, paired with a 1.0 A auxiliary output for four-wire smoke detectors. The 8 A maximum alarm current is distributed across the four outputs, each rated at a 2.5 A maximum. The outputs include Class 2 rated power-limited outputs with auto-reset thermal and short-circuit protection.
**Output Programming:**
Each output can be programmed independently for Steady, Temporal Code 3, or Strobe synchronization. Input to Output Follower mode programming is available for all outputs.
**Paralleling Outputs:**
Combining two outputs allows for an individual output capacity of 4A. The two-wire synchronization mode is compatible with various series, including Gentex Commander GOS Sync Mode 3, 4, and ST/HS, System Sensor SpectrAlert, and Cooper Wheelock, facilitating the synchronization of horn and strobe operations over two-wire circuits.
