Description
The Honeywell 5800COV is a wireless, battery-operated carbon monoxide (CO) detector designed for integration with Honeywell security systems compatible with 5800-Series wireless technology. Utilizing advanced electrochemical sensing technology, it delivers prompt alerts when carbon monoxide is detected in the environment. This detector is engineered for seamless system compatibility and is fully compliant with UL 2075 standards as a system-supervised device. It features a piezoelectric horn that emits the ANSI S3.41 temporal 4 pattern during alarm situations.
The unit comprises an electrochemical CO sensor interfaced with a wireless transmitter capable of communicating alarm, trouble, end-of-life, tamper, and low battery status to the control panel. During an alarm, messages are sent every 4 seconds until the dangerous carbon monoxide condition is resolved and the device resets. Users can press the Test/Hush button to temporarily silence the horn for 5 minutes. Once reset, a RESTORE signal is dispatched to the control panel, allowing for zone number clearance. With no drilling or wiring required, it maintains the aesthetics of homes or buildings while safeguarding occupants from hazardous carbon monoxide. This detector is particularly suitable for locations where wiring is challenging, aesthetic considerations are important, or hazardous materials are present.
