The APF Series voice control loudspeakers are specifically designed for exceptional sound projection and high audio conversion efficiency, making use of a compression driver to deliver up to 15 watts of continuous power handling. These loudspeakers ensure superior intelligibility even in challenging acoustic environments. The APF Series can be flush-mounted or recessed seamlessly into both interior and exterior walls or ceilings. Recessed installation is achievable with a 5.5-inch deep opening or enclosure and is compatible with the industry-standard L20 Series grilles, enclosures, and mounting rings. For mounting into 8-inch diameter baffles, accessory mounting kits such as Model MK-2 or FAMT-6 are available.
The models come equipped with a built-in 25/70.7V Vari-Tap transformer, which offers a screwdriver-adjustable, 7-position watt/impedance selection switch for versatile audio setups. The robust magnet assembly features a self-aligning field-replaceable diaphragm, and the wiring terminals are secured with a vandal-resistant adapter cover for enhanced protection in installations using cable or conduit.
Additionally, the APF-15TUC model includes a built-in 5 mfd capacitor to support line supervision, while the APF-15TU model does not feature a capacitor. All loudspeakers are finished with a durable grey baked epoxy coating.
Designed to meet or exceed UL Standard 1480 for Fire Protective Loudspeakers, these models are built to withstand an ambient temperature range from 66°C (150°F) to -35°C (-30°F). The robust all-metal construction, along with the re-entrant acoustic path, provides excellent protection against water, humidity, vermin, physical abuse, and corrosion. Furthermore, these models have received the California State Fire Marshal Listing, ensuring reliability in critical applications.
