The AtlasIED 4″ Blind-Mount Enclosure System (U.S. Patent # 4,673,149) is designed to offer a streamlined and budget-friendly solution for secure speaker installations in retrofit ceiling applications. It includes all the necessary hardware and features a unique support mechanism with mounting ears that extend telescopically from within the enclosure. These ears can be adjusted vertically to fit ceilings with a thickness ranging from 1/2″ (13mm) to 1 3/8″ (35mm). The enclosures are constructed of cold rolled steel (CRS) and come with torsion-spring receptacles for rapid installation of torsion-spring grilles. Additionally, J-nuts are included on the enclosure’s flange to facilitate surface-mounting grilles. For convenient cable access, the backplates are designed with three 1/2″ (13mm) conduit knockouts. To reduce metallic resonance, sound damping material is incorporated within the enclosure. Supported by two adjustable mounting ears, these models are compatible with AtlasIED torsion-spring grille models T51-84 and T720-4BT, which are specifically crafted for 4″ (102mm) speakers. The BMT95-4-7 model is an extra-depth version with a 7″ (178mm) depth, enhanced by high-density fiberglass fill and finished in textured black epoxy.
