Description
The VPVT-PB Series offers a vandal-proof speaker station designed to withstand environmental and physical challenges such as abuse, moisture, corrosion, dust, vibration, and extreme temperatures ranging from 150°F to -30°F. This station is available in a 15-watt model, featuring a 12-gauge stainless steel plate attached to the high-efficiency VT Series compression driver. Its patented 8-ohm driver, complete with a water-sealed die-cast zinc housing and an exponential sound projector, is renowned for its reliable performance and clear voice and signal transmission. The driver serves dual purposes as both a speaker and a microphone, allowing hands-free communication with a central master control.
The VPVT-PB Series includes a vandal-proof call switch with a 3-amp contact rating for call-in signaling. This call switch is a heavy-duty, momentary action push button that is flush-mounted for enhanced security and durability. The station assemblies are installed with tamper-proof, button-head breakaway screws into a recess mounting enclosure, which should be ordered separately. The VPVT-PB measures 7 1/4″ square (184mm) and mounts to an enclosure Model VP-77, sized at 5 1/2″W x 6 1/4″H x 3 1/2″D (159 x 140 x 90mm). The enclosure features a 16-gauge CRS with a rust-preventive coating.
The VPB-1A acts as a vandal-resistant push switch intercom accessory mounted on a single gang-size 12-gauge stainless steel plate. This assembly can be used alongside VPVT and VPCS stations or as a standalone signaling device when an external or remotely located call button is needed. The switch is constructed as a SPST normally open circuit with a 3-amp contact rating. Installation of the vandal-proof hardware requires a 6–32 holt-head driver bit, compatible with a standard 1/4″ nut driver, which is available for order separately as Model HX56-6D.
