The Electro-Voice EVID C8.2 ceiling loudspeaker system is a comprehensive two-way audio solution designed for seamless integration into various ceiling environments. This package includes a bezel assembly, grille, rear enclosure, an 8-inch coaxial two-way loudspeaker, and an internal line-matching transformer. It features a waveguide-coupled titanium-coated dome tweeter, providing precise audio reproduction.
The loudspeaker is equipped with a 2nd order crossover network at 2.5 kHz and an advanced protection circuit to safeguard the network, woofer, and tweeter drivers from high power levels. Its transformer allows for power selection of 1.88 (70-V only), 3.75, 7.5, 15, or 30 watts through either 70-V or 100-V lines, or an 8 ohm bypass, easily adjustable via a front baffle switch.
The unit’s semi-gloss white perforated grille is powder-coated, and both the baffle and bezel are made from UL 94V-0 rated ABS for durability. Its zinc-plated, heavy-gauge steel rear enclosure, lined with fiberglass damping material, ensures optimal internal volume for enhanced low-frequency response. The rear access cover accommodates a junction box fitting and a 4-pin terminal block for direct speaker connection with 12-gauge wire, facilitating daisy-chain configurations for additional speakers. The EVID C8.2D model includes a 3-pin fire-safety rated input block for added security.
Included is a tile bridge for safe and secure installation in drop ceilings with mineral wool or other fiber-based ceiling tiles.
