The EVID PC8.2 from Electro-Voice represents a comprehensive high-performance audio solution for ceiling installations, perfect for applications such as background and foreground music, voice evacuation, paging, and sound reinforcement. All EVID Premium Ceiling Speakers boast high acoustic output, excellent coverage control, substantial power handling, and wide dispersion to accommodate virtually any listening space. Fully assembled, the EVID PC8.2 includes an integrated bezel assembly, grille, rear enclosure, 8-inch (200 mm) coaxial two-way speaker, and a high-power line-matching transformer. It features a waveguide-coupled true compression high-frequency driver and a long excursion 8-inch (200 mm) woofer. The integrated transformer provides multiple power settings—7.5 W (70-V only), 15, 30, or 60 watts—compatible with 70-V or 100-V lines, or an 8-ohm bypass, adjustable via a switch on the front baffle. The perforated grille, zinc-plated and finished in semi-gloss white powder-coated enamel, complements the fire-rated ABS baffle and bezel. Constructed with zinc-plated heavy-gauge steel, the rear enclosure is optimized with fiberglass damping for extended low-frequency performance. The rear cover, compatible with a junction box fitting, facilitates connections through a 4-pin terminal block, accommodating up to 2.5 mm (12 AWG) wire and pass-through to additional speakers. For secure installation in drop ceilings using mineral wool or fiber-based tiles, the package includes two adjustable metal tile bridges and a metal “C” ring. EVID ceiling speakers are engineered to function cohesively across a variety of ceiling constructions as a complete audio system.
