The Atlas Sound PM8CX features the state-of-the-art 8CXT60 compression driver coaxial loudspeaker, renowned for its impressive efficiency surpassing 92 dB 1 W/1 M. This model also offers an exceptional 90-degree conical coverage in the 2 kHz octave band, ensuring optimal performance even in ultra-high mounting locations up to 30 feet.
Installing the PM8CX onto overhead surfaces is designed to be user-friendly. For open beam ceilings, a 3-meter cable kit with a self-gripping ferrule system is included. For installations requiring a down pipe from hard ceiling materials, any standard 3/4″ ceiling fan installation kit can be used. These kits, widely available under the FANTEC™ brand at home improvement stores, offer various down pipe lengths to enhance installation versatility, accommodating ceiling angles up to 45 degrees.
Both installation methods are seamlessly integrated through the PM series’ innovative top cover design. This cover includes a removable cable access plug for pipe mounting, and it effectively conceals the speaker cable terminations and suspension anchor points.
Various packages are available to cater to multiple coverage patterns and installation needs. For low ceilings, Atlas Sound provides a discreet enclosure system featuring an ultra-wide coverage 4″ FA series driver. In contrast, for higher ceiling installations, the Atlas Sound PM series offers a range of solutions meeting different budget and performance demands. This includes three distinct 8″ driver options, all factory-assembled into a larger pendant-style enclosure.
