The SD72WV speaker represents the evolution of high-performance cone speakers, building on the success of the previous C-Series models. This ensures that audio technicians and system designers familiar with the C-Series will experience the same premium sonic qualities with the SD72WV.
This model features a robust 25-watt, 8-inch (205mm) speaker equipped with a 10oz. (260g) ceramic magnet. Its curvilinear, treated paper cone reduces harmonic distortion, while the full 1-inch diameter copper voice coil, complemented by a black anodized aluminum former, enhances power dissipation. The SD72WV operates across a frequency response range of 45Hz-19kHz, delivering a sensitivity of 97dB and a dispersion angle of 105 degrees. It comes with a factory-installed 25/70.7V line matching transformer, offering tap selections from 0.25 to 5 watts.
The SD72WV is designed with a factory-installed CRS baffle featuring concealed speaker mounting studs and includes screw mount hardware. Its baffle, compatible with most 8-inch tile bridges, mounting rings, and enclosures, allows for seamless integration with existing systems. When specifying mounting hardware, note that the SD72WV baffle dimensions align with those of the Model 62-8. The baffle is finished with a white powder coat epoxy, and the baffle-mounted volume control, rated for 5 watts of audio, is pre-wired to the voice coil. Each unit arrives fully assembled and ready for immediate installation.
