Description
**Applications**
Contemporary audio system designers and architects prioritize both aesthetics and functionality. The appearance and minimal visual impact of a loudspeaker are just as crucial as ensuring exceptional audio quality, high fidelity, and clarity. The Strategically Hidden Loudspeaker (SHS-3T2) from AtlasIED flaunts a compact design that seamlessly integrates into diverse settings, delivering outstanding sound quality. This hidden loudspeaker is versatile for paging, background music, or sound masking applications, available in various configurations to fit different spaces.
**General Description**
The SHS-3T2 is engineered with a full-range driver encased in a multifunctional enclosure for premium sound delivery. The integrated transducer connects to a tunnel waveguide, enhancing sound reproduction. As sound disperses through a patented adaptive dispersion lens acting as a phase plug, frequencies are emitted evenly, reducing “hot spots” under the loudspeakers. This makes it an ideal choice for sound and music amplification, as well as an effective sound masking speaker.
The SHS-3T2 offers three installation options: wall mounting, pendant mounting, or in-ceiling mounting. For optimal placement, the wall mount provides up to a 90° adjustable angle, ensuring peak performance regardless of installation site. In open ceiling applications, the included steel mounting cable is used. The mounting bracket features threads for compatibility with standard ceiling fan downpipes when necessary.
For concealed in-ceiling installations, the bracket can be removed to reduce its height. An optional tile bridge (model SHS-3T2-TB) is available for suspended ceiling applications. Once installed, the speaker is hidden by a patented 3″ diameter dispersion lens with a micro trim ring, blending into the ceiling akin to a high-end sprinkler head. Through AtlasIED’s DesignLab, the SHS-3T2 becomes a visual chameleon. The company provides custom color matching via UV printer that allows customization based on an image or sample of the ceiling, resulting in a coordinated lens and trim ring for a seamless appearance. The SHS-3T2 comes equipped with an Adaptive Dispersion Lens suitable for three distinct configurations, tailored to different applications: sound masking for low ceilings (under 10′) uses a 4mm dispersion lens with a solid panel; for ceilings between 10′ and 14′, an 8mm lens with the solid panel is recommended; for ceilings above 14′ or to achieve maximum intelligibility, a 4mm direct fire lens with a perforated panel should be employed.
This loudspeaker connects effortlessly to any 70V / 100V amplifier using standard 2-conductor commercial speaker wire and a removable 4-pole euro-style connector. Additionally, when integrated with AtlasIED’s Z-Series High-Definition Acoustical System, the SHS-3T2 utilizes Cat5e cable. It features “in” and “out” Cat5e terminals, allowing for daisy-chaining speakers to the Z-Series source unit seamlessly.
