The CR222-NR ceiling-mounted equipment rack offers a discreet and space-efficient solution for installing electronic devices within the ceiling plenum. Designed to blend seamlessly with standard drop-ceiling tile arrangements, this plenum-rated enclosure ensures secure and concealed equipment installation. It features an accessible cabinet, allowing easy equipment servicing thanks to a cleverly designed open-frame door that accommodates a ceiling tile for enhanced concealment. The installed ceiling tile remains securely fixed with retainer tabs, and safety cables are attached to prevent injury when accessing the equipment through the door, which opens smoothly by removing two thumb screws. The CR222-NR accommodates 2RU (rack units) of equipment within a 19″ standard width, fitting perfectly within a 2′ x 2′ ceiling grid. Its versatile shelf system includes universal mounting holes for straightforward installation of electronic devices. An optional rack rail kit is available to facilitate rack-mount equipment installations, offering an additional 2RU with the CR222RR rail.
The innovative AmbiTILT mechanism enhances equipment handling through three user-friendly servicing methods. Quick-release cane bolts allow the shelf to tilt forward for front access or backward for rear access to connections, while complete removal of the shelf system is achieved by unlatching all cane bolts and safety cables. This ensures comprehensive access for integrators.
Further enhancing functionality, the CR222-NR integrates a UL-listed power pack featuring five standard 15 Amp outlets: four inside the cabinet and one exposed for external devices like projectors, operated via a convenient on/off switch. Efficient cooling is maintained by a whisper-quiet fan (24dBSPL A-weighted).
Constructed at AtlasIED’s Texas facility to withstand the test of time, the CR222-NR is made from durable 18AWG powder-coated metal, embodying exceptional strength and longevity. The enclosure’s side panels include four removable 4″ square cover plates, accommodating various electrical and A/V connectors like Ethernet, HDMI, NL4, XLR, and RCA.
