The ELK-BLT Battery Life Tester, also known as the Mhos Meter, is a compact and user-friendly diagnostic tool designed for evaluating 12 Volt rechargeable batteries. This tool assesses internal conductivity or Mhos, which is a key metric for determining a battery’s overall health and longevity. Mhos, indicating conductance, is the reciprocal of Ohms, which measures resistance. The operation of the BLT is straightforward: for every battery brand and size, begin by measuring and noting a baseline Mhos reading. During maintenance sessions or inspections, simply record the latest Mhos measurement, and always compare it to the original baseline reading to determine the battery’s current state.
