Description
The HDCD8TP 8-way bi-directional distribution units empower users to expand the quantity of receivers, such as PTZ receivers, within a networked system. These units can accept input from either RS-485 or RS-232 (PC) controllers. Each output is designed to transmit control data through daisy chain wiring to up to 32 RS-485 devices. Featuring an RS-485 loop-through connection and RS-485 termination links, these distribution units allow multiple units to be interconnected in a daisy chain configuration. Engineered to extend control distances for RS-485 receivers, these units can increase the communication range by an additional 4,000 feet if the original span between an RS-232 or RS-485 controller and receiver exceeds 4,000 feet. Additionally, they support “star-wiring” configurations, enabling each output to link directly to an individual receiver. By connecting multiple HDCD8TP units in a daisy chain setup, users can achieve the necessary number of outputs for each receiver throughout the system. The device includes three LED indicators on the front panel: one for power status and two for data direction, showing transmission flow to or from the receivers.
