Standalone DS1 – T1/E1 Remotely Managed Network Interface Device (NID) for Fiber Integration
The ION S6010 is an advanced standalone managed media converter specifically designed for extending DS1 (T1/E1 or PRI) connections via fiber optic cabling. This solution offers seamless fiber extension through an RJ-48 twisted pair port and a dedicated fiber port. These DS1 – T1/E1 converters must be deployed in pairs, with one device positioned at each end of the fiber link. The management capabilities of the standalone converter are supported in-band, across the fiber, when the remote S6010 is connected to a C6010 card housed within a managed ION Chassis. The DS1 – T1/E1 converters are adaptable, featuring options for fixed fiber connectors or an open SFP slot, accommodating various fiber types, distances, and wavelengths. This flexibility ensures compatibility with any network topology. Additionally, CWDM SFPs are supported, enabling enhanced bandwidth capacity within the fiber infrastructure.
