The Mini Fast/Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Media Converter is a compact and cost-effective solution for converting 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet ports to 100/1000Base-SX/LX fiber optic ports. Designed for seamless plug-and-play deployment, this standalone media converter is perfect for installations where space is at a premium. Operating at the Layer 2 data link layer, it not only facilitates copper-to-fiber conversion but also supports rate conversion, enabling legacy 10/100 copper devices to connect to 1000Base-SX/LX fiber networks.
As a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) device, the converter integrates data transmission over fiber optic links with 56VDC power input, delivering both power and data to Powered Devices (PD) via twisted pair cable while adhering to IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standards. This enables users to maximize the benefits of fiber optic cabling along with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) technology.
Supporting PoE functionality, this media converter can transmit power and data to devices such as VoIP phones, security cameras, and wireless access points, making it especially useful for extending connectivity to remote network locations accessible only through fiber optic cabling.
