Description
The Model MGT Gate Safety Edge Transmitter is designed to provide comprehensive obstacle detection for motorized gates, doors, or barrier arms within a Linear access control system. This advanced transmitter can be easily mounted on the gate, door, or barrier and connects seamlessly with a standard exterior safety edge sensor. For enhanced compatibility, pairing it with a Miller gate edge sensor equipped with an optional 0.001 uF capacitor is recommended. In the event of an object being struck during gate closure, the sensor creates a closed circuit across the connecting wires, prompting the MGT transmitter to communicate with the access controller, triggering the gate to reverse. The MGT is compatible with several commercial telephone entry and access control systems, including the AE-500, AE1000Plus, AE2000Plus, and AP-5, as well as the RE-1 and RE-2 residential telephone entry solutions.
Notably, the MGT is the industry’s sole fully supervised gate safety edge transmitter. It proactively transmits an hourly status report to the access controller, providing insights into battery condition and overall functionality. If the edge sensor is disconnected, shorted, or tampered with, the MGT will immediately indicate a trouble condition.
Enclosed in a weather-resistant fiberglass casing, the MGT transmitter is designed to withstand the elements. The circuit board features a protective coating to guard against moisture damage, while the enclosure is securely attached to the gate, door, or barrier arm using sealed interior mounting screws.
