Utilizing advanced contactless digital ultra-high frequency (UHF) technology, RCI Ranger receivers are compatible with a wide array of electronic access control systems. They support both the traditional Wiegand communication protocol and the cutting-edge bi-directional Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP). Furthermore, RCI Ranger transmitters are powered by highly reliable and commonly available batteries, and they feature a sealed proximity or contactless smartcard module. These modules can be customized to support a variety of proximity reader technologies, thereby enabling the transmitter to function as a close-range credential.
