These deadlatches are engineered to seamlessly replace older MS1850 Deadlocks and obsolete 4250 Deadlatches without modification to the existing door preparation.
**Functionality:**
The 4530 Standard Duty Deadlatch is designed to offer adaptable traffic management during business hours and after-hours. By turning the key in reverse while the bolt is retracted, the latch allows for free two-way traffic, making it ideal for environments that need unrestricted entry at specified times and exit-only access at others.
**Operation:**
To engage the spring-loaded latchbolt, users can either turn the key or operate the handle. To keep the bolt retracted, simply push it in and secure it with a reverse key turn. The lock is compatible with any standard 1″ (25.4 mm) length, 1-5/32″ (29.4 mm) diameter mortise cylinder using the MS® cam, such as the 4036 Mortise Cylinder or a thumbturn like the 4066 Thumbturn, both available separately. The lock accommodates a cylinder from either or both sides, offering versatile installation options.
