HID Global’s pivCLASS reader lineup encompasses a wide range of contactless, dual contact/contactless, and biometric security readers. These access control solutions are engineered to operate seamlessly with the pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM), aligning with the assurance level standards established by NIST Special Publication 800-116 and the federal government’s FICAM E-PACS guidelines. The pivCLASS readers can be configured for either Wiegand or PAM mode operation. Wiegand mode allows usage without PAM, offering phased deployment to ease the transition toward FIPS 201 compliance.
