The HIGHWIRE Longstar system excels in transmitting unparalleled power and bandwidth across extended distances of coaxial cable. By utilizing existing long runs of legacy coaxial cabling, it significantly reduces costs and installation time, making it ideal for rail and metro applications.
This solution supports transmission ranges of 540 – 690 meters with RG-59 cable and extends up to 1400 meters with RG-11, all while maintaining the 100Base-T data rate. For even longer distances, it can seamlessly switch to 10Base-T operation, enabling up to three times the usual data transmission distance when focusing on data alone. Models equipped with optional PoE functionality can deliver the full 25 watts of 802.3at PoE Plus to cameras through the same legacy coaxial infrastructure.
HIGHWIRE Longstar offers a complete 100Base-T network signal along with PoE Plus over unprecedented lengths of standard coaxial cable.
