The EC-3000C Series is an ideal solution for extending Ethernet over copper (EoC) applications, particularly where existing coaxial cables need to be leveraged for IP signal transmission. For twisted pair applications, the EC-3000U Series effectively extends Cat5/Cat5e/Cat6 UTP connections beyond the 100 m (328 feet) limitation of traditional Ethernet standards. Additionally, for setups utilizing a single cable connection to cameras, the EC-3000C/U Series functions as a true Power over Ethernet (PoE) device, delivering PoE to powered devices. This negates the necessity for midspan devices or PoE-enabled Ethernet switches, ensuring full compliance with 802.3at standards. Designed as a cost-effective and advanced solution, the EC-3000C/U Series offers maximum flexibility in such applications without requiring any programming.
The EthernetConnect™ EC-3000C/U Series is engineered to extend Ethernet connections over copper mediums. The EC-3000C Series supports up to 16 channels of 10/100 Mbps Ethernet with PoE+ power injection and passthrough over coaxial cables. Similarly, the EC-3000U Series extends up to 16 channels of 10/100 Mbps Ethernet with PoE+ capabilities over twisted pair cables (Cat5/Cat5e/Cat6 UTP). These units offer unparalleled flexibility by connecting directly to PoE+ switches or generating PoE+ power with a 48 V input at either end, allowing for the seamless extension of powered devices (PD) over long distances.
Each system comprises a local and a remote module. Remote modules are designed in compact sizes, available in either one- or four-channel configurations. Local modules also come in compact sizes for one- or four-channel setups and are offered in a 1 RU rack size for higher channel counts. All application configurations should be validated at the time of ordering to ensure smooth installation.
