Description
The PS Series, designed by FireLite Alarms, serves as a robust remote power supply solution optimized for fire alarm systems and offers a direct replacement for the FCPS-24FS6/8 Series. This product line includes the FLPS6(C) with a 6 amp capacity and the FL-PS10(C) with a 10 amp capacity, each equipped with a battery charger compatible with any 12 or 24 volt fire alarm control panel (FACP) or functional as a standalone power unit. The series delivers 24 VDC power for notification appliance circuits (NACs) configured as Class B or Class A (utilizing the optional ZNAC-PS card) and supports multiple synchronization protocols.
Ideal for various fire alarm system peripherals, the PS Series provides auxiliary power that can be constant or resettable, making it suitable for devices such as detectors, annunciators, and door holders. Its cabinet supports two 7 AH or 18 AH batteries and can charge up to 33 AH batteries in a separate cabinet, ensuring ample power reserve.
Key features include up to five (6 amp model) or seven (10 amp model) independently-configurable, power-limited output circuits designed for Class B and/or Class A NACs and auxiliary power for door holder operations. By incorporating the ZNAC-PS converter card (available separately), the wiring can be converted from Class B to Class A without losing outputs. This makes it optimal for powering four-wire smoke detectors and other peripherals requiring regulated power.
The PS Series is configurable for ANSI® Temporal 3 or Temporal 4 coded output and offers UL-Listed NAC synchronization with System Sensor®, Wheelock®, Gentex®, or AMSECO® appliances. Synchronization may be initiated from FACP NAC/remote sync outputs, a cascaded power supply, or a control module. The system allows cascading of up to four power supplies for enhanced scalability.
Other features include two (for the 6 amp model) or three (for the 10 amp model) fully-isolated input/control circuits programmable to any output, along with two Form C normally-closed trouble relays for AC Trouble and General Trouble. A Ground Fault relay is also available on Canadian models only.
The 6 or 10 amp models support a full load output with a 3 A maximum per circuit, and each NAC offers individual power and trouble LEDs for efficient diagnostics. Additionally, the system includes trouble history modes for enhanced diagnostic support and flexible end-of-line supervision values ranging from 2K to 27K ohms.
Built for durability and ease of installation, the PS Series is self-contained in a compact, lockable cabinet constructed from heavy-gauge steel with a corrosion-resistant, powder-coated finish. The cabinet is equipped with ten double knockouts and a removable door to simplify installation and wiring. It also features a removable terminal block that accommodates up to 12 AWG (3.1mm2) wire, making it compatible with any UL 864 FACP utilizing industry-standard reverse-polarity notification circuits.
Optional devices available include addressable control, monitor, and relay modules, along with a power supervision relay (EOLR-1), to further enhance the system’s functionality. The battery charger can be disabled via DIP switch settings for applications that require larger batteries and an external charger.
